Hi A warning popped-up today telling me that my oil had reached the minimum level. I pulled over and topped-up (she's done 165k, so it makes sense to carry some oil, although I've never needed it before!) Having done this, the warning light went off. Shortly afterwards, there was a strong smell of burning oil.
1Check the hoses that go from the Vacuum Pump to Brake Master Cylinder for cracks. 2-Maybe the hose is now so expanded, yours is an old car, that there is not a perfect seal any longer. If it is leaking you can see easily see the oil. If the Brake Pedal is hard the Vacuum Pump is the culprit. It has an Air Leak.
Theegr valve on my mk4 golf 1.9 tdi keeps leaking oil out of the two small holes near the top. I’ve replaced it 3 times, this will now be the fourth. I
Hi I have had to do almost exactly the same thing recently to my A4 Cab 3.0TDI, I was getting EGR DTC codes coming up on VCDS, and thought I had a blocked EGR valve but taking the car apart it was due to the fact the "Throttle Adapter" pipe to the EGR unlike yours mine was completely blocked, to the point that you could,nt even see
2005Touran 1.9 TDi, Diesel leaking into engine oil & starting issues w/75% fuel. So I replaced the Tandem pump last week and I cleaned out the EGR and butterfly valve (very dirty). I've read that the Tandem pump might be the issue for the fuel/oil coming together, might it also be losing it's vacuum and causing the fuel to loose
Onceyou know what’s causing the problem, you can get it fixed. Here are some of the most common fixes to the P0404 trouble code. Repair electrical short in circuit or ground. Clean EGR Valve or pipes. Replace EGR valve/sensor. Update/replace PCM. Repair intake leak. Replace MAF/MAP sensor.
Thecost to repair an oil leak depends on how many hours of labor are required to access it and its complexity. In general, expect to pay in parts and labor, $100-$350 to replace the oil drain plug gasket; $427-$512 to replace the oil pan gasket; $217-$263 to replace valve cover gaskets, and $650-$850 to replace the rear crankshaft seal.
Maybeone of the clamps is broken, or a coupling hose is split, or the plastic housing on the intercooler is cracked, or there's a hole in the aluminum core, etc. You'll just have to clean it and see where the leak is. Used intercooler is $50-ish, or they're $150-ish new including a new MAP sensor (I think).
